The New York Times has run an article looking at the bookshelves behind various celebrities – now showing all over the internet. I thought, never mind celebs – what about my own Shelf Life,or Shelfie? So here is a quick, very poor quality (from my laptop webcam) photo with my bookshelves and bird scope (hiding) behind me.
In keeping with the NYT theme I have highlighted a few books.

- Is Century that was published at the end of the 20th Century. It features photos from every year of the century, weighs in at ‘a lot’ and is a great ‘coffee table book’. It is by Bruce Bernard and Terence MacNamee and has the strap line – Century: One Hundred Years of Human Progress, Regression, Suffering and Hope.
- This is the latest Philip Pullman book in his second trilogy, The Book of Dust. This is the second book, The Secret Commonwealth. It was a Christmas present and I haven’t read it yet, hence it being on its side – but it’s moving up the ‘to be read’ list.
- These are a few of the early books by Hilary Mantell and includes ‘Wolf Hall’ and her French Revolution epic, ‘A Place of Greater Safety’. Next to these is the Michelle Obama memoir, Becoming with ‘Educated’ by Tara Westover next to it.
Need to have a root through my shelves because there are definitely some tomes that I have not got round to yet 😉

Yes there is a copy of The Goldfinch up there – all 784 pages (unread) but it’s on the list. 😁
